This rider has done a perfect faceplant. Note the furrow being created by his helmet. His feet are travelling somewhat faster than the rest of his body. He has an unpleasant surprise coming up.

The rider to the right has done a copybook drop, in order to rapidly slow down (these machines have no brakes!). Unfortunately, not rapidly enough and he is catching up to his competitor. His bike will absorb most of the impact and he will be fine.

Actually, the unfortunate rider on the left suffered only bruises, no bones broken.
